Sessions

All treatments, (except Stop Smoking/Vaping) require an initial consultation and continue with follow-up sessions.

Please note: I am currently working online only so all sessions can be from the comfort of your own home.

Initial Consultation

Approx 1hr 15 mins

This session gives you the opportunity to decide whether Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is for you and also, just as important, whether you feel I am someone you can work with.  

 

During the session, I will take some basic details to ensure I fully understand your issues and how I can support you.  Then, I will explain the brain and the workings of the mind in relation to your symptoms which will help you understand why you feel the way you do and what we can do to help. This part of the consultation is often a real revelation (I know it was for me!) and can really make sense of how you are feeling and how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help.  

I will also explain a little about hypnosis and how the very ordinary state of trance can help you resolve your issues and move forward in your life.  

Should you wish to continue with sessions, at the end of this consultation, I will book you in for your first one and provide you with access to my relaxation recording which will consolidate our work together between sessions. 

Follow Up Sessions

1hr

Most sessions (of approximately 60 minutes) follow a similar format of a blend of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.  We will spend some time focusing on what has been going well, review how the mind works in relation to what you want to achieve. Then, through specific Solution Focused questioning and guided imagery, you will create a development picture which will move you towards what you want to achieve.  This work will then be consolidated through relaxing hypnosis.

Phobias

4 x 1hr sessions

Phobias can be incredibly debilitating and prevent you from enjoying your life to the full.  Some  specific simple phobias, eg fear of spiders, flying etc and can usually be treated over 4 sessions  (initial consultation + 3 follow-up sessions).   The structure of the sessions gradually leading to introducing a new response to the fear, allowing you to regain control. 

More complex phobias, eg agoraphobia, would require a longer course of sessions – this would be discussed at the initial consultation. 

Stop Smoking/Vaping

Approx 2hrs

Whether you are new to wanting to give up or have tried many times before, if you are determined to stop, hypnotherapy can be really effective in achieving your goal.  We will explore the reasons why you smoke as well as the specific benefits to you in not smoking.   We will look at how the brain tricks you into thinking you want/need to smoke and how, with  your commitment, you can overcome this and enjoy a new life as a non-smoker. Read what clients say about this session.

 

This is an intensive two hour session which does not require a separate initial consultation.

Cancellations

Cancellations require 24 hours notice or may incur a charge for the full rate of the session.
